This engine test stand is the product of a practical three week course (VT-HVV 3003).
It has two engines, diesel and petrol, connected to hydraulics pumps and a hydraulics
system capable of loading the engines with high precision up until they overload.

Using the engine test stand future students at Reykjavik University will be able to run
tests on it to get a better understanding on how engines work, how hydraulics system
works and the Thermo Dynamics behind it.

Furthermore the engine test stand is ideal for comparing the energy and the efficiency
of alternate fuels such as biodiesel, ethanol, methanol and others.
